Abstract

This paper will present different aspects of music therapy with cancer patients. Of particular interest is how music therapy can address positive health concepts in cancer care (positive health concepts and resilience are now increasingly emphasized in cancer care in the US). Bradt will discuss the different aspects of music therapy work with cancer patients and contrast this to "the (limited) story" of the Cochrane Systematic Review that she co-authored and published earlier this autumn. The paper will also include a discussion about the usefulness of mixed methods reviews for summarizing evidence in music therapy and about how the use of mixed methods could be related to the discussion of positive health concepts.
